Learning and Instructional Design Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President to join our Internal Audit team within the Performance Management, Learning & Development function. In this role, you will lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of professional development content to drive growth, engagement, and effectiveness across the Internal Audit department.

The Internal Audit Division (IAD) drives attention and resources to vulnerabilities by providing an independent and well-informed view and impactful messages about the most important risks facing our Firm. This is accomplished by performing a range of assurance activities to independently assess the quality and effectiveness of Morgan Stanley’s system of internal control, including risk management and governance systems and processes. IAD serves as an objective and independent function within the Firm’s risk management framework to foster continual improvement of risk management processes. This is a Vice President level position within the Internal Operations and Quality Control family, which is responsible for efficient and effective functioning of the department, supporting the ultimate delivery of high-quality assurance activities.

What you'll do in the role:

Partner with Subject Matter Experts to design and deliver dynamic adult learning experiences – both live and online – that cover audit, business, technical, professional, and managerial skills.Identify and implement innovative digital learning solutions to enhance the Internal Audit Curriculum.Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions to enhance participant engagement and encourage active involvement.Develop concise, engaging, and accessible content that simplifies complex topics for adult learners.Evaluate and improve the impact and effectiveness of training programs.Effectively partner with colleagues and stakeholders globally to drive effective working relationships and ensure successful implementation of learning initiatives aligned to departmental priorities.Effectively manage projects and deliverables within deadlines.

What you'll bring to the role: 

Requirements:

A minimum of six years' relevant experience related to instructional design consistent with adult learning theoriesStrong writing, editing and instructional design skills, including ability to design quizzes, simulations and performance-based assessmentsAdvanced ability to design innovative content that appeals to various levels and learning styles in multiple modalities (e.g., quick reference guides, videos, online, instructor-led) while being ADA compliantPrior experience in large and small-group training facilitationKnowledge and application of current and emerging learning and development trendsHighly collaborative, proactive and resourceful attitudeAbility to effectively manage deliverables to meet quality requirements and deadlinesProficiency in Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or RiseExperience with WellSaid Labs preferredExperience working in Financial Services a plusExperience facilitating personality/leadership assessments, such as Hogan Assessment, DISC, or Myers Briggs a plusAbility to coach and mentor others and create an inclusive work environment for team

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $135,000 and $203,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
