Flexible scheduling can be arranged at the end of the semester. These hours may include some evening and weekend hours. These experiences include semesters and summers abroad, short-term faculty-led programs, international internships, and global research opportunities. Last year, we sent over 800 students abroad and awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships. Our dedicated team supports students in exploring programs that align with their academic goals, professional aspirations, and personal interests. We also assist with the application process, credit transfer, travel preparation, and student health and safety. With partnerships across the globe, we’re proud to offer access to over 50 countries and hundreds of disciplines. Learning Abroad Graduate Advisors are primarily responsible for representing Learning Abroad and promoting Learning Abroad opportunities to the campus community. The position is open to incoming or current graduate students at the University of Utah. Applicants are not required to have participated in a Learning Abroad Program; however, previous international experience is preferred. The Learning Abroad office is hiring for two (2) positions. **Responsibilities** + Advise prospective students on program selection through our Exploratory Advising program. + Assist and co-lead small group advising sessions. + Correspond and communicate with students via email and phone. Manage work-related inboxes. + Guide students through the full life cycle of the application. + Assist in application and program management; lead study abroad information sessions and pre-departure orientations: virtual and in-person. + Conduct student workshops and classroom presentations: virtual and in-person. + Manage communication between Learning Abroad and other departments on campus; liaise on behalf of the office with parents, on-campus resources, and partner representatives. + Support Learning Abroad staff with special projects and program management including, but not limited to Faculty-Led, Exchange, and Affiliate program portfolio; transfer credit management; Global Skills program; TerraDotta application system. + Assist with student outreach and marketing. + Other duties as assigned **Minimum Qualifications** **Preferences** + Maintain good standing and full-time status at the University of Utah + Notify Learning Abroad if employed by any other office or department at the University of Utah + Demonstrate a minimum availability (scheduling flexibility) of 20 hours per week + Commit to two consecutive semesters (AY 2025-2026) of employment with possible extension to the summer and the next academic year + Demonstrated experience with teaching, advising, mentorship, coaching, and/or leadership + Professional interest in education abroad + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Experience with and enthusiasm for public speaking + Excellent time management and organizational skills + Enthusiasm for the development of new skills and knowledge **Special Instructions Summary** **Additional Information** The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (“URS”).
