Lean Production Specialist

Lean Production Specialist, Erika of Texas, Inc., a Fresenius Medical Care N.A. company, Pharr, Texas.

Responsible for ensuring control of the production execution times and implementation of Lean techniques in production and administrative areas for identified warehouse operations in Pharr, Texas and a large manufacturing site located in Reynosa, Mexico.  Will contribute to the implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization, and provide guidance, support, and expertise to ensure the appropriate implementation of a Lean Six Sigma program approach to process improvement and problem solving.  Specific duties include:

Developing a robust continuous improvement strategy in partnership with the Management Team and key business stakeholders (Lean Roadmap).Implementing and supporting cultural change across the organization and driving business process improvement.Developing, delivering, and supporting delivery of business improvement change initiatives and developing and contributing towards improvement standards in line with best practice.Providing company-specific expertise, professional advice, and guidance on business improvement drawing from proven industry practice and methodologies.Reporting on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and action necessary to ensure success.Defining, developing, and publishing business improvement process documentation to reflect best practice.Undertaking business process analysis and statistical analysis for improvement projects to support wider change.Performing root cause analysis and resolving problems.Optimizing processes and lead times.Coordinating and standardizing lean approach (with other areas), supporting the development of the Corporate production system and following the zero-defect philosophy.Ensuring that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety, and environment policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and visitors.Ensuring relevant on-going learning and development of all employees in lean improvement opportunities.Coaching and facilitating teams and individuals to identify and implement improvement opportunities,

Requirements:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of experience performing process improvement projects in a medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.  Must also have 5 years of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with the primary experience requirement above) working with the following:

Developing and implementing process improvement and waste reduction strategies for manufacturing operations in the medical or pharmaceutical industry;Ensuring that production improvements comply with health, safety and environment policies and procedures; andPerforming  root cause analysis and resolving production/manufacturing problems.

The position requires weekly travel by car to a manufacturing facility in Reynosa, Mexico (across the border from McAllen, Texas).
