Job Responsibilities:

Serves as a team leader for both Cook/Pack (primarily) and Formulation, providing functional supervision for other members of the work unitAssists in the set-up and tear-down operations and upkeep of production lines· Trains or facilitates training of team membersPrepares and maintains production reportsServes as a communication conduit between team members and management, including communicating company/line objectives to team members, daily information/updates, and helping to resolve questions/concerns of team membersCoordinates team member schedules to meet business needsOperates forklift in a safe and effective manner, frequentlyReports safety and policy violations for corrective measuresCompletes all required paperwork and reports and performs data entryAssists and maintains product flow in the event of down timeCommunicates maintenance needs within the departmentProvides breaks to other team members, as neededAll team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to, personal safety and food safetyComplies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violationsAttends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT)Performs other duties, as assigned

Job Requirements:

1+ year of experience in food manufacturing preferred3+ months of experience with inventory control methods, preferred3+ months of experience safely operating a forklift preferred, and ability to become forklift certified within 30 days of hire with Tyson required (Tyson provides training and certification)Strong leadership and problem-solving skillsStrong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervisionBasic computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and communicate via emailAbility to accurately perform math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisionStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughnessAbility to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively with all team members and managementAbility to identify, act with a sense of urgency, and resolve problems/inconsistencies, getting help from management or others, as neededAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and function well under stressAbility to work on and off a forklift 8-10 hours a dayAbility to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, have flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and work weekends and overtime, as neededAbility to work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm to cold/freezing, where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areasAbility to climb up and down stairs/ladders to get to/from work areas, and work at elevated levels of various heights and in confined spaces, if neededRequires standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching above, across, and below, and at shoulder levelAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder levelMust be able to use both arms/hands and legs/feet to operate forklifts or electric pallet and hand jacksAbility to perform repetitive motions, flex/grip with wrists/hands, and use tools (e.g., box knife, metal scraper)Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and glovesNo sponsorship offered
