About the Role:

Downer is seeking a Leading Hand – Workshop to lead a team of skilled mechanics maintaining heavy mobile and earthmoving equipment. This is a leadership role where your technical expertise and team coordination will make a real impact. The position is approximately 10% hands-on (on the tools) and 90% supervisory and administrative, giving you the opportunity to focus on leadership while staying connected to the technical side.

What You’ll Need:

Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or Mobile Plant Technology

Proven leadership experience in a mechanical environment

Experience with heavy mobile or earthmoving equipment

Highly Regarded:

Background in civil, road transport, or rail

Current HR Licence or willingness to obtain

Skills in electrical fault finding and hydraulic systems
