Leadership Giving Officer
Leadership Giving Officer **Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):** Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree). Two (2) years of full-time working experience. Experience in fundraising, sales, philanthropy, alumni relations, donor cultivation, events, and/or stewardship practices. **Preferred Qualifications:** Experience working in higher education, non-profit and/or healthcare systems. Fundraising campaign experience. Contact management software experience. Proven track record of closing major or leadership annual giving level gifts. **Brief Description of Duties** : The Leadership Giving Officer will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward leadership giving donors, specifically targeting those capable of multi-year, unrestricted pledge commitments between $5,000 and $99,000. The incumbent will manage a dynamic portfolio and assist in efforts to renew and solicit increased annual gifts from alumni, parents, and friends. This position collaborates with colleagues across the University to achieve fundraising priorities. It may also involve managing volunteer boards composed of alumni, parents, and friends aimed at increasing leadership annual giving. + Work closely with campus and development partners to create and execute a fundraising plan that achieves specific and measurable goals. + Serve as a member of the Stony Brook University Advancement team. Regularly communicate with direct supervisor, peer development officers, and other Advancement personnel. + Foster constructive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues. Engage volunteers to utilize them in the cultivation and solicitation of gifts. + Attend appropriate alumni, college, and university events to advance prospect or donor relationships. Establish positive working relationships with key internal and external partners, serving as a proactive leader in the university's leadership annual giving efforts. + Work with alumni relations to increase attendance, engagement, and follow-up for key events. + Analyze metrics and key performance indicators to ensure best practices and lessons learned. + Other duties as assigned. **Special Notes:** The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
