**What are your contributions to the team?**
Bombardier is seeking an experienced and dynamic Supply Chain Leader to lead our procurement team in support of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Global Defense programs. This leader will be responsible for supplier performance, compliance, and strategic sourcing initiatives across our defense programs. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in U.S. DoD supply chain management, a solid understanding of the FAR/DFARS, and demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams in an aerospace and defense environment. This role is key to enabling Bombardier Defense’s long-term success with the U.S. Government by ensuring compliance, efficiency, and supplier excellence. The role will oversee supply chain proposal and program activity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead, coach, and manage a team of supply chain professionals, providing direction, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• Drive supplier management and performance improvement initiatives, including metrics, scorecards, and strategic partnerships.
• Lead sourcing, negotiation, and contract execution activities in compliance with FAR, DFARS, and company policy.
• Oversee supplier engagement and risk mitigation strategies across development and production lifecycles.
• Manage Statements of Work (SOWs), subcontractor T&Cs, and ensure alignment with programmatic and contractual requirements.
• Champion Supply Chain compliance and support successful Contractor Purchasing System Reviews (CPSRs).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, engineering, program management, and quality to ensure alignment and support to program needs.
• Serve as a primary interface with suppliers for performance, escalation, and commercial resolution issues.
• Support cost reduction strategies and initiatives to optimize life cycle cost and drive supplier innovation.
**How to thrive in this role?**
• You have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• You have a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) supply chain management, including procurement and subcontracting.
• You have a deep knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), and government procurement compliance.
• You have experience in managing complex supply chains within the aerospace and defense industry.
• You have demonstrated success in leading a team of supply chain or procurement professionals.
• You have proven experience in supplier negotiations, development and management of subcontracts, and management of supplier T&Cs and SOWs.
• You have strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large datasets and drive actionable insights.
• You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• You are comfortable interacting/presenting to all levels of management, including senior leadership.
• You have experience managing or supporting a successful CPSR or internal compliance audit.
• You have experience with fixed-price and cost-type contracts.
• You are familiar with international contracting and global supply chain management.
• You have working knowledge of supplier risk management frameworks and tools.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or similar credentials are an asset.
