Lead, Vehicle Operations Support Specialist

We’re looking for a Lead, Vehicle Operations Support Specialist to help keep the process as well-oiled as the vehicles we restore. In this role, you’ll assist the Mechanic Shop Manager and Supervisor in overseeing daily reconditioning operations. Are you at your best while bringing the best out in others? What You’ll Do

Lead the inspection and reconditioning process of vehicles for their second life within Manheim’s remarketing process.  Support the reconditioning process from auction check-in to client delivery.  Ensuring selected vehicles are “Retail Ready”.Lead the workflow and activities of the shop employees to ensure that all vehicles are completed in a timely manner, shop cycle times are maintained, and all client SLA agreements are achieved.Will partner with multiple internal auction teams and management to achieve client SLA success.  Including, Vehicle Inspections, Lot Operations, Body Shop, Mech Shop, and Detail ShopLead a direct team of two individuals with the potential growth for added staffing in the future.Weekly communication with Regional Reconditioning Support Management TeamCommunicate and resolve reconditioning goals, results, and problems with the Mechanic Shop Manager and Supervisor  Responsible for executing all internal arbitration administrative duties and communicating mechanical findings to regional arbitration hub.  This includes understanding estimates and technician language, leading the team in submitting information into internal Manheim systems to close arbitration claims more timely and efficiently.Ensure all Electric Vehicles on the property are maintaining a minimum charging level.  Communicate any EV exercising and/or charging issues directly to our Commercial Accounts and Dealer Services Teams.Assisting manager and supervisor in monitoring and evaluating employee job performance and providing feedback for performance appraisals.  This includes quarterly team talent assessments, quarterly employee progress checks, and year-end evaluations.Using leadership tools to track and push production goals and to appropriately post charges for completed workLeading by example and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.  Monitoring and controlling the use of supplies, materials, and equipment for the recon shop.  Enforcing all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.  Workflow management of vehicles through the reconditioning process. Ensure delays and exceptions are properly communicated to our reconditioning clients.Communicate daily with team and leadership on daily production goals and previous days performance.Ensure employees have the proper PPE equipment and are properly trained to utilize the resources in the shop.

Who You Are

You’re passionate about leadership and are comfortable delegating responsibility and planning projects. But most of all, you’ve got a love of cars, from Alpha-Romeo to Rivians to Fords.  Here are some of the qualifications that brought you here:

Minimum:

HS Diploma/GED and 4+ years of relevant experience in a related automotive field (vehicle reconditioning, detailing, mechanical and/or body shop experience); or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.Competent leadership and excellent organizational skills.Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

Preferred:

Excellent people, teamwork, and customer service skills.  Strong communication and interaction skills.A working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations is preferred.  A working knowledge of AS400 is preferred
