Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Thin Film Coating Operations
Program coating equipment with design specifications based on scheduled production plans. Operate automated and manual evaporation systems, ensuring accurate layer endpoints. Analyze coating runs using observational and deductive skills to document performance data. Simultaneously manage two high-volume coating chambers and support peer operations. Communicate production updates during daily quality meetings. Operate and interpret results from characterization and test equipment. Adjust production schedules to meet dynamic requirementsChamber Setup and Calibration
Assess design parameters and prepare appropriate evaporation materials. Inspect and replace worn/dirty components to ensure optimal chamber functionality. Perform calibration runs and analyze data to confirm proper setup and product quality. Utilize precision instrumentation to validate coating process alignment. Document setup configurations and run-specific data in system logs. Ensure accountability for product quality and equipment performance.General Duties
Support other coating processes including cleaning, sandblasting, and material prep. Maintain inventory and be able to perform light maintenance independently. Execute intermediate test procedures between runs for performance verification. Audit personal and team procedures for consistency and compliance. Train new employees following established programs; perform ongoing assessments. Provide timely, accurate support to engineering teams. Lead discussions in daily quality and performance meetings. Participate in employee evaluations in collaboration with supervisors.Education & Experience
High school diploma required; strong background in mathematics and/or science preferred. Bachelor’s degree or technical certification preferred. Experience level: Advanced (typically 8+ years), but we value demonstrated impact over tenure. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.Skills

Standing or walking for extended periods (3+ hours). Must be clean-shaven and able to wear a half-face respirator. Capability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and use of step stools or platforms for chamber accessSafety Requirements

This position is subject to a pre-employment physical evaluation associated with wearing a respirator.
This position must undergo annual physical evaluations associated with respirator use.
