SAAS oversees four key resources: Academic Support and Access Partnerships (ASAP), Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD), Adaptive Sports & Fitness (ASF), and Testing Accommodation Centers, and is committed to promoting accessibility by providing support services, advocacy, and academic accommodations to students with disabilities. SAAS is a partner to students, faculty, and staff in the pursuit of developing leaders and citizens who will challenge the present and enrich the future. **Job Summary** Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of the Testing Accommodation Center, the Lead Testing Accommodations Support Coordinator is responsible for leading and supervising the efforts to support faculty in providing testing accommodations for students with disabilities. This role involves leading the development and execution of course testing accommodation plans, supervising Testing Accommodation Center staff assigned to support faculty, and ensuring adherence to relevant compliance standards and regulations. The Lead role will collaborate closely with faculty, academic program staff, program leads, Deans, the Testing Accommodation Center staff, and the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) to enhance partnerships and address accommodation needs. The Lead position is responsible for conducting regular faculty training sessions, leading accommodation planning meetings with faculty, supporting faculty, and serving as the primary point of contact for faculty inquiries regarding testing accommodations. Proactive engagement in continuous professional development and representing the Testing Accommodation Center within the broader university community is essential. The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem solver with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively. They will have a strong commitment to advancing the work of academic accommodations within SAAS and across the entire University of Michigan. **Responsibilities*** **Management of Faculty Testing Support Operations and Staff (35%)** + In conjunction with the Assistant Director and SAAS Leadership, identify, develop, and implement a strategic vision for faculty testing support. + Supervise professional and temporary staff, and serve as the primary point of contact for addressing conflicts and/or difficulties. + Support the TAC Assistant Director in identifying emerging trends and necessary areas of training and development for the TAC team and, as appropriate, developing resources and training, including overseeing training and onboarding new staff. + Lead daily/weekly operations of the faculty support team, including organizing and leading weekly meetings, ensuring complete coverage of staff for operations, and ensuring fulfillment of the mission of providing accommodated exams. + Serve as the primary point of contact and representative for the faculty support team in interactions and partnerships with campus partners. Responsible for fielding, reviewing, and tracking requests for interviews, presentations, and workshops, and, in conjunction with SAAS leadership, developing materials and messaging to ensure consistent communication with the university community. + Responsible for maintaining up-to-date, accurate statistics and reporting. + Identify and elevate compliance issues and concerns to the Assistant Director, as appropriate. + Other duties as assigned. **Faculty Collaboration and Support (30%)** + Work directly with faculty and academic department staff to determine the best course of action in providing testing accommodations to students with approved accommodations. + Assist with finding sufficient testing locations and coverage, utilizing spaces both within and outside the Testing Accommodation Center. + Develop individualized course plans to address the testing accommodation needs of students, ensuring compliance with ADA and university standards. + Conduct one-on-one consultations with faculty to address specific concerns or challenges related to testing accommodations. + Stay informed on accommodation trends and compliance requirements to advise faculty effectively, translating legal and institutional policies into practical solutions. + Facilitate and maintain collaborative relationships with Department Chairs, Deans, and faculty members to enhance problem-solving and resource-sharing efforts. + Create and lead presentations to educate faculty on the needs of students with disabilities, fostering an institutional culture of inclusivity and understanding. + At times, facilitate accommodated exams in areas outside the assigned classroom and the Testing Accommodation Center. **Leadership/Training (25%)** + Design and conduct comprehensive training programs for faculty that cover accommodation procedures, legal requirements, best practices, and innovative teaching strategies for inclusive assessment. + Organize and lead faculty workshops and seminars on new developments in accessibility and testing accommodations. + Lead regular accommodation planning meetings to share insights and resolve issues related to testing accommodations across various departments. + Serve as a contact for faculty inquiries regarding testing accommodations, providing expert guidance and support. + Collaborate with the Testing Accommodation Center and Services for Students with Disabilities leadership on complex accommodation issues and compliance challenges, offering strategic solutions. + Develop educational resources, such as guides and toolkits, for faculty and campus partners to facilitate understanding and implementation of testing accommodations. **Professional Development (10%)** + Continuously attend and participate in professional development learning opportunities focused on testing accommodations and implementing accommodations. + Attend and present at regional and/or national conferences in the disability accommodation field that focus specifically on testing accommodations. + Stay informed about related needs and issues, both at the University of Michigan and nationally. + Actively represent the Testing Accommodation Center in activities within the Division of Student Life and provide expertise and leadership to University constituents regarding best practice policies and procedures. **Required Qualifications*** + Bachelor's degree + 3-4 years of progressively responsible administrative or student services work experience or equivalent + Experience supervising staff. + Computer knowledge, proficiency, and skills. + Customer service experience **Modes of Work** Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. The timing of individual shifts will vary. Staff could be expected to work earlier or later evening hours or weekends, especially during final exam season. + This position is primarily conducted in an office environment. May be required to travel to various locations on/off campus to conduct business and will be required to maintain their own high-speed residential connectivity service in order to work from home.
