Assists physician with performing stress echo and trans esophageal testingMaintains equipment in good working order, selects appropriate settingsFunctions in a leadership role maintaining staffing, assignments, and daily day to day functioning of the echo non-invasive departmentKeeps staff informed of current work statusProvides timely scheduleProactively works to insure equitable work assignments,Understands and follows technical criteria for analyzing preliminary reportsIntimate knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology and extensive EKG experienceVerifies physician order prior to administering test procedurePerform echo cardiograms, stress echos and TEEsEffectively interacts with physicians, nurses and other ancillary staffAssists fellow sonographers with workload when appropriateActs as preceptor for new employeesPrepares and instructs patient on procedureFollows proper method to apply for specific echo procedureExpresses a thorough understanding of echocardiography equipment and its physiological applicationsDocuments all pertinent informationPrepares test results for physician reading and interpretationAssists with clerical work and scheduling patient testingAppropriately prioritizes tasksCoordinate quarterly quality assurance/ quality improvement meetings with physicians and echo techniciansReview and update policies and procedures related to cardiac sonographyOrganize and lead in-service training for current staff and new hiresEnsure compliance of all Joint Commission Standards/ ASE/ and the guidelines of the ICAELMonitor productivity and budgetary parametersComplies with infection control policiesInsures correct patient identification through the routine use of two patient identifiersUpdates orders as neededProactively works to insure patient safetyRecognizes to be responsive, courteous, respectful and cooperativeReports to work in a timely mannerPreserves patient dignity, privacy and confidentialityModels service recovery techniques to ensure customer satisfactionBenefits and Perks:
