Lead Technical Program Manager

As a Lead Technical Program Manager, you will be a vital part of the Canadian Technology Functions team, leading the Operations Enablement team used by our Operations teams to support customers across Canada. You have a strong technical background with strong experience leading complex programs, and excellent business insight to drive outcomes and build multi-year strategies.

Position Responsibilities:

Leadership and Collaboration:

Lead a squad of technical professionals within the software development domain.

Collaborate across squads and application teams utilizing our foundational operations capabilities.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

Work closely with the Technical Product Partner and Business Architects to understand and prioritize business and technical needs.

Own and collaborate with various partners to deliver a 3-year technical roadmap.

Technical Excellence:

Lead the squad to deliver on non-functional requirements and obtain necessary approvals (e.g., architecture, risk).

Manage technical currency and ensure compliance with technical and regulatory standards.

Impact and Influence:

Consistently contribute to the success of the team by getting results and fostering collaboration.

Required Qualifications:

Understand how technology supports Manulife's strategy.

Demonstrate strong leadership skills in mentoring and motivating team members.

Maintain a meticulous and analytical approach.

Possess awareness of the full technology stack (MERN) and understand business priorities.

Build positive relationships with business partners and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.

Learn from successes and failures to drive continuous improvement.

Exhibit strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Communicate technical vision and outcomes effectively.

Display excellent change management and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading a diverse software engineering team.

Proficiency in technical architecture and solution design.

Ability to collaborate with architects, engineering managers, and business product partners.

Experience building long-term technical strategies and developing multi-month backlogs.

Working Arrangement

Hybrid

Salary range is expected to be between

$110,530.00 CAD - $205,270.00 CAD
