Job Description
A fortune 50 client of Insight Global is looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to join their Collaboration Tooling team in support of Glean, an AI-powered enterprise search and agent platform that empowers over 40,000 internal users across departments including Supply Chain, Operations, Technology, and Engineering. As a platform lead, youll own the operational reliability and scalability of Glean within our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. You will collaborate cross-functionally with business partners, engineering teams, and the Glean vendor to ensure a seamless and secure experience for users building intelligent agents and automation workflows. This is a high-impact role requiring a mix of systems engineering, observability, customer empathy, and strategic vendor partnership.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Ownership: Lead day-to-day operational support, configuration, and optimization of the Glean platform in a GCP-based internal tenant.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Derive insights from logs and metrics using tools like BigQuery, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Monitoring. Proactively detect, investigate, and resolve performance issues.
Vendor Collaboration: Act as the primary technical point of contact for Gleans support team. Communicate effectively with their engineering and product teams to escalate issues, validate feature behavior, and coordinate platform updates.
Customer Enablement: Partner with internal teams to understand use cases, enable agent development, and guide users through troubleshooting or optimization best practices.
Reliability Engineering: Ensure platform stability and availability by identifying and remediating risks, scaling systems for growth, and participating in on-call support rotations if needed.
Security & Compliance: Collaborate with our InfoSec and IT teams to ensure the platform meets internal security, compliance, and data privacy requirements.
Compensation:
$55/hr to $65/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements
6+ years of experience in systems engineering, platform support, DevOps, or site reliability roles.
Strong familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, especially BigQuery, Cloud Logging, IAM, and Servics Accounts.
Proven experience supporting third-party SaaS platforms in an enterprise environment. (Atlassian tools)
Comfortable debugging logs, analyzing query performance, and writing or tuning SQL in BigQuery.
Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including vendor partners. {this is 50% of the job!}
Experience triaging platform-wide issues and coordinating incident response.
Strong problem-solving mindset with a bias for action and continuous improvement.
Passion for user-centric tooling and enabling others through great platform experiences. Experience with enterprise AI platforms (e.g., Glean, Coveo, Sinequa, etc.).
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and deployment pipelines using Spinnaker.
Experience leveraging a modern programming language such as Python for automation or integration work.
Familiarity with access control models and search-based interfaces.
Background in working with federated data platforms or indexing pipelines.
Prior experience enabling AI agents, chatbots, or LLM-integrated workflows. null
