Lead Surveillance Technician
Under the direction of the Manager, Surveillance Technical, the Lead Surveillance Technician is responsible for leading Surveillance Technicians and mentor, responsible for training, assisting in oversight of Surveillance Infrastructure Technicians and tasks such as, projects, maintenance, equipment inventory, commissioning, and decommissioning of surveillance system infrastructure and equipment (surveillance systems). The Lead Surveillance Technician is responsible for assisting in assisting in technical design, planning, and deployment of systems, reading and interpreting system diagrams and schematics, and utilizing tools and testing instruments to ensure proper functionality. Additionally, surveillance systems are installed in accordance with organizational, industry and regulatory standards ensuring compliance with state and federal for the operation of gaming activities.Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1.    Leads Surveillance Technicians and organizes, directs, and distributes work.  Provides training, mentoring and coaching, and ensures professional development for Surveillance Technicians. Scope includes but is not limited to installation, repair, and maintenance of surveillance systems at properties owned and operated by Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation (YSMN). Properties include but are not limited to Yaamava Resort & Casino (YRC), YRC Hotel, YRC Retail, YRC Entrainment Venue, YRC Amenities, YRC Food & Beverage areas, YSMN Reservation, and numerous YSMN remote site locations.
2.    Reviews work completed by Surveillance Technicians, approves processes work orders, (documenting work performed), provides accurate daily and/or weekly status reporting.  Provides feedback and/or solutions to projects, tasks and technical, physical installation or mechanical challenges.
3.    Installs and configures cameras, prepares servers, network switches, storage devices, wireless devices, equipment racks, cabinets, and cabling support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks).  Installs/dresses, terminates, tests, and labels various types of cable (i.e. Category cable, fiber, coaxial).  Installs cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, J-hooks or D-rings).  Cross connecting of surveillance equipment such as cameras network switches, servers, and storage appliances. Performs routine maintenance; troubleshoots outages, issues, and/or concerns related to surveillance equipment.
4.    Operates equipment such as man lifts, Ariel boom lifts/trucks, utility vehicles, and enterprise vehicles.  Uses tools including but not limited; ladders, power tools and various hand tools.
5.    Adapts quickly to new situations, maintaining strong commitment to team environment. Maintains capacity to work with little supervision and demonstrates willingness to learn new technologies.
6.    Maintains working knowledge of Surveillance Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission (SMTGC) and Casino policies/procedures, federal, state, and tribal regulations pertaining to YSMN and its operations.
7.    Maintains accurate inventory of all surveillance system components.
8.    Provides testimony as subject matter expert in Gaming Commission hearings, Tribal Court, or Court of Law.
9.    Is "on-call" and responsible for technical support in response to enterprise needs on a 24 hour 7 days a week basis.
10.    Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Surveillance Technology, Information Technology (IT), Low Voltage Systems, Surveillance Systems Technical Support, IT Data Center Operations, Access Control Systems or any related technical field required.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (Ksa)

PC literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as familiarity with tools required.

Ablity to follow safety guidelines when using required equipment, tools, and techniques while performing job duties.

Must possess, or be able to attain, skills to operate equipment such as man lifts, aerial boom lifts/trucks, ladders, hand/power tools, and utility trucks required.

Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

Proven commitment to working in a team environment with a capacity for self-direction, and a strong willingness to learn new technologies.

Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams.

Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English for safety purposes.

Must be personable and professional, capable of using caution and discretion in communication.

Licenses, Certifications And Registrations

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Must hold or be able to obtain within 1 year from date of start in department, Certified Fiber Optic Installer (FOI) certification required.

Must hold or be able to obtain within 1 year from date of start in department, Genetec beginner and advanced certification required.

Vocational/Technical certification(s) in Low Voltage, Surveillance closed-circuit television (CCTV), Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, physical security or related field preferred.

CompTIA A+ (various) or equivalent Certification preferred.

Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions – Environment

Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting or outdoors and possibly inclement weather.

Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other

office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.

Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings,

via videoconference and over the telephone.

Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.

Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.

Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.

The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
