Lead Surgery Scheduler - Ops Surgery Scheduling
**Job Description** The Surgery Scheduler Lead functions as an administrative team lead for the office. The position supports the physician, hospital staff, nursing staff, supervisor, and manager in the delivery of healthcare by performing a variety of surgery related tasks to maintain an efficient and productive workflow for the staff. This position also assists with providing a review of Surgery Scheduling administrative skills, assessing the workflow of administrative staff and monitoring staff and surgery scheduling coverage. Duties and Responsibilities: + Performs all functions and processes of the Surgery Scheduler job description. + Leads Surgery Scheduling huddles to monitor, assess and evaluate department workflows within current location or multiple areas depending on practice needs. + Provides leadership team with effective feedback regarding Surgery Scheduler performance, annual reviews and new Surgery Scheduling candidate hires. + Analyzed performance metrics, review and brainstorm with leadership to develop time saving workflows. + Assists and trains existing and new Surgery Schedulers in any new and existing processes. + Communicates effectively with staff to tackle issues with scheduling conflicts, provider disagreements, OR arrangements, equipment conflicts and CPT/ICD-10 coding. + Performs observations of surgery staff skills and performance abilities using designated evaluation and observation tools, provides supervisor with suggestions for opportunities to improve workflows and processes. + Follows up with employees to check their progress on assignments to ensure timely completion. + Represents the Surgical Scheduling team within the department during meetings, engagements, discussions or other business encounters. + Evaluates the Surgery Scheduling process and recommend new methods for improvement. + Assists leadership team in workflows, processes, forms, and insurance protocols. + Assists and direct patient inquiries or complaints to appropriate medical staff members, administrative staff, insurance plans, OR supervisor and other departments to ensure satisfactory resolution. + Acts as a key liaison for equipment vendors, facilitate supplier and vendor ordering and communications. + Leads and facilitates staff meetings related to Surgery Scheduling staff. **Qualifications** **Education:** High school diploma/GED required. **Experience:** Five (5) years of surgery Scheduler experience in an outpatient or inpatient clinical, ambulatory service center or hospital setting required. **About Us** Cedars-Sinai is a leader in providing high-quality healthcare encompassing primary care, specialized medicine and research.
