As a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring supplier deliveries consistently meet all customer quality and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include leading preventive enhancement initiatives to improve supplier manufacturing processes and actively contributing to sourcing and industrialization efforts to achieve the target of zero customer defects. Essential Responsibilities
Lead the organization in resolution of any customer quality concerns which may relate to supplier performance
Monitor customer score cards and plan preventive actions against disruptions triggered by suppliers
Partner with supplier to anticipate volume evolution and changing landscape for quality requirements and improvements
Provide engineering support to supplier manufacturing process ensuring consistent application of quality techniques to resolve quality issues of capability, tolerancing and materials
Lead supplier eligibility assessment, readiness review and surveillance audits, ensure early containment actions apply
Lead APQP (customer requirements flow down, FMEA, leverage lessons learnt, etc.) ensuring that PPAP are approved on-site when it is required
Promote the use of Flight Deck tools across multidisciplinary teams
Develop breakthrough process improvement strategies and implement them in collaboration with stakeholders through the application of Flight Deck principles, as Hoshin Kanri, driving Productivity on Product Cost and Service business
Active member of the Hoshin Kanri initiatives and lean development to strategic/critical suppliers
Handle daily shop issues related to supplied parts by identification & containment of non-compliances
Regular daily metric management of Supplier Quality KPI’s thru standard work
Attendance to production planning meetings to provide the status of supplier quality related constraints preventing product/process release
Lead with all the related stakeholders all problem-solving events to contain internal scraps and supplier escapes, find root cause and corrective action, make the risk assessment and standardize through Lesson Learnt/FMEA
Stop-off the production in the event of uncontained supplied off-spec parts
Gatekeeper for scrap assets, control and inventory related to supplier parts
Lead risk assessment (e.g. PFMEA, PQA, etc) to ensure compliance to product/process/system quality requirements
Determine improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to sustain manufacturing processes to adhere to standard requirements and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity related to product, process or system
Deployment through Yokoten of Lessons Learnt from established successful preventive actions
Qualifications/Requirements
Master of Science in Engineering degree
Previous experience in quality assurance and control within a complex manufacturing environment
Understanding of mechanical processes and materials used in the aerospace industry
Familiarity with aerospace standards and customer-specific requirements
Certified auditor.
Strong background in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Proven Track Record in Quality Tools: PDCA/A3, Ishikawa diagram/3x5L Why, SIPOC/Process Flow Diagram/Process Flow Chart. Production Control Plan/FMEA, APQP/PPAP, SPC/Run Charts, MSA
Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes: Complex assembly, Machining, Electronic assembly, Welding/Brazing, Sheet metal forming, Heat treatment/Thermal coating
Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time
Fluency in English and Italian
Work Visa in accordance with local regulation is required

Familiarity with GE Quality Systems and Tools: eCAV, eNMS, SPS (or equivalent customer tools)
Proficiency in GE Avio Aero IT Tools: APICE, SAP, Quarta EVO
