Lead Supplier Quality Engineer
This position is intended to convey to the new, independent company, to be named Solstice Advanced Materials when the separation occurs. This is expected to occur in late 2025 or early 2026. Candidates who are placed in this role understand and agree that they will convey to SAM when the separation occurs. The Lead Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for leading the supplier quality assurance functions, which includes managing supplier evaluations, audits, and performance assessments. This role requires strategic thinking combined with technical expertise in quality engineering principles. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality assurance programs that drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** **Supplier Evaluation and Selection:** + Develop and implement supplier assessment and selection processes to ensure suppliers meet quality and capability criteria. + Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their quality systems, processes, and compliance with specifications and standards. + Establish quality metrics and performance indicators for supplier performance management. + Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary to resolve quality issues. + Identify potential quality risks associated with suppliers and develop risk mitigation strategies. + Collaborate with suppliers to conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and develop preventive measures. + Work closely with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of suppliers’ quality assurance processes. + Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and management to ensure transparency in supplier quality issues. + Lead root cause analysis initiatives for supplier quality issues and implement corrective and preventive action plans. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to enhance quality performance. + Maintain accurate records of supplier quality assessments, audits, and non-conformance issues. + Prepare and present reports on supplier performance metrics and quality improvements to management. + Provide training and support to internal teams and suppliers on quality assurance protocols and best practices. + Mentor junior quality engineers and provide guidance on supplier quality management. + **Quality Control and Monitoring:** Establish quality metrics and performance indicators for supplier performance management. + Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary to resolve quality issues. + **Risk Management:** Identify potential quality risks associated with suppliers and develop risk mitigation strategies. + Collaborate with suppliers to conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and develop preventive measures. + **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of suppliers’ quality assurance processes. + Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and management to ensure transparency in supplier quality issues. + **Continuous Improvement:** Lead root cause analysis initiatives for supplier quality issues and implement corrective and preventive action plans. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to enhance quality performance. + **Documentation and Reporting:** Maintain accurate records of supplier quality assessments, audits, and non-conformance issues. + Prepare and present reports on supplier performance metrics and quality improvements to management + **Training and Development:** Provide training and support to internal teams and suppliers on quality assurance protocols and best practices. + Mentor junior quality engineers and provide guidance on supplier quality management. + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics. + Minimum of 6 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or a related role. + Strong knowledge of quality engineering practices and methodologies. + Excellent problem-solving and thoughtful skills. + Strong communication and people-oriented skills. + Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. + Willingness to travel as required.
