Sargent & Lundy’s Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering and consulting to the management and operating contractors for the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Lead Structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design teamApply structural engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and componentsPrepare engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and engineering reportsMonitor the work of assigned staff on technical matters pertinent to project assignments; Maintain assigned tasks within schedule and budget to fit the needs of the projectsAttend project meetings and perform field walk downs; communicate clearly in meetings with clients and summarize meeting notes in a clear and timely manner Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.

 

Essential skills and experience:

Must be able to obtain US Government security clearanceBSCE or BSSE degree or similar from an ABET-accredited program10+ years of progressively responsible experience in civil and structural engineeringExperience with producing engineering designs for foundations, structures, and support structures

Valued, but not required skills and experience:

Multiple years of experience in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial or Navy), highly desirableProfessional Engineering (PE) Licensure in Structural EngineeringField Engineering and Construction ExperienceExperience with ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISCProficiency in finite element analysis software such as ANSYS or SAP2000 or equivalent Award-Winning Benefits
