Role Overview
The Lead Sourcing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to ensure the timely procurement of goods and services at optimal cost, quality, and delivery standards. This role involves supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals. The Lead Sourcing Specialist will also drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage ERP system and relationships with suppliers to create and execute to purchase orders.Participate in contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.Conduct market research and benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in the supply chain.Drive cost reduction initiatives and value engineering projects to achieve procurement savings targets.Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Operations, and Finance teams, to align sourcing strategies with business needs.Prepare and present sourcing performance metrics, supplier scorecards, and procurement reports to leadership.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in sourcing and procurement operations.Travel up to 20%Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Sourcing, Procurement, and/or Fulfillment)Minimum of 3 years of experience in Sourcing, Procurement, and/or FulfillmentDesired Characteristics
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of Lean (FLIGHT DECK) principles and continuous improvement methodologies.Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).Leadership and decision-making skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork and stakeholder engagement.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
