As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesProvide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasksTakes accountability for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresCollaborate with the Business Analysis team for producing estimates and agile delivery plans, stakeholders etc.Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessaryCreates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representationDesign, code, test, and deliver software leveraging firm-wide frameworks and best practices for the ServiceNow platform.Follow and enhance the scrum practices for continuous team processes improvement
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityHands on experience in software development, with relevant years in ServiceNow platform as an architect or team leadServiceNow Certifications: CSA, CAD, CIS – ITSM; strong understanding of SDLC and ITIL practices.Experienced in resource allocation, and project planning, ensuring efficient use of resources and successful project execution within defined timelines.Committed to continuous learning and improvement, staying updated with the latest ServiceNow releases, features, and industry trends.Deep understanding of the ServiceNow platform architecture, including its data model, security model, and application framework.Excellent knowledge on ServiceNow integrations and authentication patterns.Proficient in optimizing ServiceNow instance performance through script optimization, database indexing, query optimization, and adherence to best practices for instance tuning and configuration management.Skilled in utilizing ServiceNow Performance Analytics to develop and monitor KPIs, generate insightful reports, and analyze system performance metrics for informed decision-making.
Deep knowledge of JavaScript, AngularJS practices and commonly used modules. This includes creating self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components
