As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Bank Markets, Foreign Exchange Services - Transact, you will be an integral part of an agile team focused on developing, improving, and implementing cutting-edge technology products that emphasize security, stability, and scalability. In your role as a principal technical contributor, you will provide vital technology solutions across diverse technical domains and business functions, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic objectives.

Job responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityExperience in building high-performance latency-sensitive event-driven applicationsStrong experience in building concurrent/multi-threaded software in Java and/or Kotlin, Microservices, latency sensitive applicationsExperience developing web-based applications with large user basesProficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsExcellent understanding of application resiliency, and securityStrong computer science foundationsAbility to work well in a team environment, contributing to a culture of collaboration and mutual supportStrong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience with containerised technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with the following tools & technologies: FIX, Solace, ActiveMQ / RabbitMQ / Kafka or similarExperience in cloud technologiesExperience in forex (FX) products or similarFamiliarity with agile development practices
