ABOUT THE TEAM
The Equity Investments and Client Activities team at Parametric:

We are building financial software that that solves some of the world's most complex financial opportunities. This includes building solutions to provide customized direct index exposure while making tax-sensitive asset allocation decisions to improve overall after-tax portfolio returns.We design and build financial software responsible for the account life cycle that starts with the onboarding of accounts through the management of client activities and investment instructions.We are focused on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that are cloud-native.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership, project management, process development, training and support. The role will work across and within the Equity Investments and Client Activities team as well as Core Services and externally facing Digital Team. This role will enhance the Direct Indexing business priorities, to design and develop technology solutions, and to improve business processes. This role spans across many services within the team building out underlying components that will provide critical services to the Equity Portfolio Management Platform. These services will help streamline the rule-based portfolio analytics, order generation and straight through processing allow for exception driven portfolio management.

This position will report into the [Equity Services] team and work closely with team leads across Technology teams, Business Analysis as well as Business Partners. In this role, you will lead developers and projects and provide mentoring opportunities to the development team.

A critical objective for this role is to support the architecture and deliver scalable enterprise solutions, leveraging AWS cloud native technologies, designing and implementing micro-services and a relentless focus on performance and resilience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and develop proprietary solutions for the Equity Direct Indexing portfolio management teamsProvide technical leadership to other Software Engineers.Design, develop, and maintain services and API to support various business needsLeverage scalable and distributed computing principles to build the next generation of servicesEnsures that software solutions remain integrated, efficient, and appropriate for a highly regulated industry.Create unit/integration/functional/performance testsMentor new or less senior developersConduct code reviews of other developersShare experience, knowledge, and ideas to the team to improve processes and productivity

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area of study8+ years of hands-on development experience managing all aspects of technical projects with a proven track record of delivering well architected and well written software solutions.Experience supervising and guiding software development teams and fostering an engaging, collaborative environment.7+ Years of hands-on Java/J2EE software design and development experience. Strong hands-on experience developing API using GraphQL/RESTStrong debugging and troubleshooting skillsCloud native development experience a plus: AWS is preferred, but not requiredStrong aptitude for highly efficient data structures and algorithmsStrong knowledge of relational databases and SQLWorking knowledge of NoSQL database engines such as Redis, Cassandra, or MongoDBProven track record of becoming a subject matter expert in areas related to current assignments.Strong leadership skills including:CommunicationTotal quality commitmentOwnership and accountabilityProject managementA creative, self-confident self-motivator with a "can do" spirit.Passionate, forward thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and integrity.Ability to collaborate and partner across a diverse team tapping the strength and unique skills of every team member.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 - $225,000/Yr. per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
