As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the CONSUMER & COMMUNITY BANKING - Home Lending space, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersSets up and manages POC's to evaluate the feasibility and impact of new technologies and methodologies, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirementsDrives the adoption of best practices in software development and AI integration, ensuring high standards of quality, security, and efficiency are maintained across all projectsIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.Advanced in one or more programming language(s) such as Java, PythonExperience in Generative AI Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.)Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.)Experience in building enterprise applications with high availability and performance using Java, Python, Spring, Kafka, Elastic Search, Distributed Cache.Understanding of machine learning principles, especially in natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning, to effectively work with LLMs.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience working at code level. A keen interest in staying ahead of modern development trends and experimenting with emerging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning.
