About the Role:
Mastercard Automatic Billing Updater (ABU)

Why ABU? Consumers are storing their account information online in more ways via mobile and digital wallets. ABU platform enables issuers and acquirers to securely communicate account changes for credential-on-file and recurring payments to merchants— increasing approvals of card-not-present transactions and boosting customer satisfaction while reducing customer service demand.

Right now, our platform is going modernization journey applying domain driven design principles. That’s where you come in.

Role:
Technically lead project through all stages of the project life cycle, including requirement understanding, estimation, design, development, acceptance testing, deployments.
Work closely with Project Architect, BA and/or customer and come up with high level and low-level design
Hands-on developer who writes high quality, secure code that is modular, functional and testable.
Create or introduce, test, and deploy new technology to optimize the service
Perform system maintenance, production incident problem management, identification of root cause, remediation of the problems and on-call pager support schedule.
Adapt to the technical artifact templates per the needs of the project and technology. Contribute ideas to help ensure that required standards and processes are in place. Maintain solution and technology road maps.
Research and evaluate current and upcoming technologies and frameworks.
Contribute to all parts of the software’s development including design, development, documentation, and testing.
Have strong ownership of your team’s software and are deep in the maintenance characteristics, runtime properties and dependencies including hardware, operating system, and build.
Develop critical components whenever required and create proof of concepts for new/unknown use cases/ideas
Comply with organizations processes. Policies and protects organization’s Intellectual property. Also, participate in organization level process improvement and knowledge sharing

All about You:
Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
Hands on experience with core Java, Spring Boot, Spring (MVC, IOC, AOP, Security), SQL, RDBMS (Oracle and PostGRES), NoSQL (Cassandra, preferable), Web-services (JSON and SOAP), Kafka, Zookeeper
Hands on experience of developing microservice application & deploying them on any one of the public clouds like Google, AWS, Azure, PCF
Hands on experience of using IntelliJ/Eclipse/My Eclipse IDE
Hands on experience of writing Junit test cases, working with Maven/Ant/Gradle, GIT
Experience of guiding high performing software development teams both technically and professionally preferred
Experience in CI/CD with a strong focus on the engineering methodology
Motivation, creativity, self-direction, and desire to thrive on small project teams
Full stack engineering experience in an agile production environment
Experience solving and implementing scalable solutions to solve complex problems
Familiarity in modular design using and creating single-responsibility services and APIs
Expert foundation in algorithms, data structures and core computer science concepts – able to teach/mentor others in their learning
Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Proficiency with cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, serverless technology, NoSQL databases), micro-service design, CI/CD, DevOps
Experience designing scalable fault tolerant platforms that are resilient to infrastructure failures
Experience with the strangulation pattern and anti-corruption layers to migrate monolithic systems into independent services
Expert in modern software design principles such as SOLID, DRY, and Single responsibility
Mentor and teacher of new technologies and design patterns
Expert in using at least one of the industry leading Cloud Technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
Expert in using at least one of the industry leading SQL/NoSQL Databases like Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB and Distributed caching like Redis, Hazelcast, Memcached etc

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
