As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Commercial and Investment Bank, Rates Technology, you will play a crucial role in an agile Python development team focused on advancing, constructing, and providing dependable, cutting-edge technology solutions that prioritize security, stability, and scalability.

 

Job responsibilities

 

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectWorks on JP Morgan’s flagship technology product, Athena, which is one of the largest Python code bases in the world (50+ million lines of code).Works closely with the business users to ensure solutions are fully aligned to the business requirements

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification and proficient advanced experiencePrior experience working in an agile development team.Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s)Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
