The Opportunity:   

We are looking for talented, curious, and energetic Software Support Engineers who possesses strong leadership skills and strong interest in solving complex challenges on a global scale.   As a Visa Lead Software Support Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for the Risk application systems.  The role expects the candidate to be a thought leader, technical subject matter expert, provide resource management for all support related work including contractors, and accountable for the support delivery and operational excellence of multiple highly available application services.

 

Responsibilities:   

Lead the Risk application support team to provide world-class application support.

Provide rotation basis 24x7 production support to all Risk suite of applications in the production environment.

Diagnose and resolve problems in production to meet all service level agreements (SLAs), including possible joint analysis with cross region team

Responsible for work & resource management related to extended teams, e.g. contractors (if any)

Partner with Developers, Test Engineering, Scrum Master / PM.

Provide strategic technical and functional knowledge to critical Tier 1 Risk application:

Develop into subject matter expert for the critical Risk applications including Issuer Fraud Detection (IFD) and Risk Message Processor (RMP).

Participate in application architecture design ensuring application resiliency, stability and scalability needs.

Provide consultation and support to business project discussion & deployment

Coaching and guiding team members in developing technical skills

Participate in development and deployment of CI/CD pipelines.

Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Operational Support excellence.  Design and deploy automated support solution based on AI, support automation and become a strong advocate for pro-active monitoring.

Actively contribute to application and product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.

 

 **We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa. 

 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Basic Qualifications 
• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications 
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis skills is a MUST.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure in Linux server, Storage, Network, Databases for application troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of database concepts, MySQL and/or MSSQL and Cassandra.
• Experience with Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc., production end-to-end monitoring tools exposure with SRE.
• Experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, and Spring etc., Middleware software.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline software deployment and automation tools, software build, regression, and defect tracking tools e.g. Git, Jira.
• 5+ years of experience in design and implementation, comfortable in scripting or languages, e.g. Java, C++, Python, Go.
• Experience in Kubernetes, containerization, e.g. Docker, will be added advantage.
• Prior software engineering experience, familiar with software development lifecycle phases, agile framework including SAFe, will be added advantage.
• Energetic individual keen with AIOps, to modernize operation supports
• Flexible attitude, team player, highly driven individual, ready to work with multiple time zones cross-geographical teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication and attention to detail skills.
