The Role
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will serve as an individual contributor on a squad of software engineers and SDETs. You will collaborate with the engineering manager and architects to provide technical strategy and direction, implementing requirements from product managers and UX designers. You will work with a stack that includes Rails and Postgres, with containerized microservices in Kubernetes (k8s). This role operates in a fast-paced environment with a focus on high quality and on-time delivery.

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutionsLead technical discussions and provide guidance to the squadEnsure the implementation of best practices in coding, testing, and deploymentTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issuesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver product features and improvementsMentor and support junior engineers in the squadUtilize Jira for task management and trackingWork within a Scrum team to follow Agile methodologiesAdhere to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processesProvide high-level estimations for project planningParticipate in roadmap refinement and planning sessionsSupport operational escalations and ensure timely resolutionTake ownership and have the autonomy to shape delivery

 

What You’ll Bring

 

8+ years of experience in software engineering with prior experience as a leadStrong experience with Angular, Ruby on Rails, Postgres, .NET, Docker, and Kubernetes (k8s)Proficiency in containerized microservicesExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication skills to articulate technical concepts and solutionsExperience in leading technical projects and providing strategic directionA passion for continuous learning and staying updated with industry trendsFamiliarity with Jira and Agile methodologiesUnderstanding of SDLC processes and best practicesAbility to provide high-level estimations and contribute to roadmap refinementA go-getter attitude with the ability to work autonomously and shape deliveryFocus on high quality and on-time delivery
