About the Team The Digital team focuses on delivering a superior customer experience on petsmart.com and our mobile app. The team also guides revenue and profit growth for the digital business. Digital team associates focus on delivering initiatives that help our pet parents find and discover products, bring enterprise priorities to life digitally, design new user experiences, build new features and capabilities, and manage key omni-channel programs. We work to showcase our brand digitally through the lens of expertise and love and to provide a personalized experience for our consumers. The team takes a data-driven approach and leverages quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize the experience and make business decisions. This role is based at PetSmart’s Phoenix Home Office, where associates currently enjoy the benefits of in-person collaboration while having the flexibility to work remotely one day per week (a “flex workday” with leader approval), and an expected four days in the office. About the Job The Lead Site Merchandiser (Deals & Promotions) is essential in creating, translating and implementing merchandising and Digital strategy into the online shopping experience. The Lead Site Merchandiser will not only be responsible for executing fundamental aspects that create the functionality of the e-commerce business but also to present innovative efforts in delivering digital execution of merchandising strategies and improvements to the site that drive conversion. The person in this position will work closely with Buying, Marketing, Pricing, Product, and Creative teams to ensure broad alignment and support of key priorities & promotions. Drive strategies and priorities of site and app experiences for owned business areas. Work cross functionally with marketing and merchant partners to consolidate information and actions. Lead a focused effort on testing new capabilities with a learning mindset to optimize owned business areas. Manage day-to-day responsibilities of the e-commerce site for Sale & Clearance Shops, inclusive of publishing content, analyzing and acting upon business trends, and site maintenance. Serves as subject matter expert to round table partners & contributors of key digital promotions. Accountable for the delivery of new capabilities, with clear understanding of the capabilities and processes for implementation. Influence and proof marketing material such as emails with a customer first viewpoint. Optimize end to end customer journey for owned programs, including internal search, taxonomy, navigation, attribution, educational/inspirational content, and SEO. Analyze reporting to identify performance trends, high level results against KPIs, insights, and recommendations for future activations. Communicate results to the organization and use the information to drive digital tactics. Works with Marketing partners to ensure clarity of messaging and end-to-end landing experience is optimized for all marketing vehicles that strengthen customers to site Support and assist with key E-Commerce initiatives, IT projects, presentations, reports or any other assigned tasks KEY COMPETENCIES attributed to creating service include, but are not limited to the following: Knowledge Skills and Abilities Highly organized with effective time management and project management skills Ability to initiate multiple projects and a bias for action Ability to manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and trends Ability to work independently with minimal direct oversight Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft office applications, including intermediate capabilities with Excel and Word Excellent problem-solving skills – able to identify, analyze and propose solutions to various technical and business issues Proven ability to influence without authority and collaborate Exhibit professional initiative and entrepreneurial initiative Understanding of financial reporting and P&L management and digital funnel EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 4+ years of Merchandising, E-Commerce, Analyst, or Marketing experience About the Culture At PetSmart, we work hard to create a culture where every associate feels like they truly belong and we celebrate the unique stories, backgrounds, and experiences our associates share.
