Lead Scientist -Analytical
Job Title: Lead Scientist -Analytical Summary:The job holder of the new Lead Analytical Scientist position will be responsible for developing analytical methods, analyzing internal/external samples, implementing systems to ensure quality and contributing to innovation via analytical expertise, eg. chromatography, NMR, mass spectrometry and thermal analysis. The successful candidate will independently plan and execute high-impact analytical cases, contribute to advanced capability establishment, and influence cross-functional and global teams through clear communication and technical leadership. Responsibilities Include: + Comply with site-specific EHS procedures and promote a strong safety culture by integrating a safety mind-set into day-to-day responsibilities. + Independently plan, lead, and execute multiple analytical cases of substantial technical and business impact. + Develop, validate, and troubleshoot analytical methods using advanced techniques (e.g., NMR, HPLC, GC, MS, UV-Vis and FTIR). + Maintain a strong understanding of business R&D and Application Development Engineer’s requirements and deliver creative analytical solutions. + Translate complex analytical technical concepts for non-technical or cross-functional audiences. + Communicate program deliverables and progress to cross-functional stakeholders, including global technology teams and business leadership. + Apply state-of-the-art technologies to meet complex analytical challenges and explore new establishment capabilities based on business needs. + Mentor and train junior scientists and technicians; share expertise across multiple projects and technical domains. + Build a global network of experts within GAPT. + Maintain clear, concise, and scientifically sound documentation in accordance with quality and regulatory standard + Seeks opportunities to participate in scientific organizations / societies / associations to enhance both career and the company’s brand. Qualifications: The following are required for the role + Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or related scientific discipline with 5+ years of industry experience; or M.S. with 8+ years. + Experience in polymer analytical chemistry especially in chromatography, mass spectrometry, NMR, thermal and rheology testing techniques. + Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams. + Expert level skills troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical instrumentation. + Must be self-motivated and be able to work both independently and collaboratively. + Excellent problem-solving and excellent communication skills, willingness to take initiatives, and being proactive. + Fluent in Chinese and English. + Experience in working effectively in a Matrix organization as well as leading without authority is preferred What We Offer: At Momentive, we value your well-being and offer competitive total rewards and development programs.
