Lead Rubber Process Engineer

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Lead Rubber Process Engineer.
**What you’ll do:**
**Job summary**
The Lead Rubber Process Engineer owns the production process for the manufacture of rubber hoses for the cold shrink product line as a member of the Industrialization Team at the rubber molded and assembled products plant in Queretaro, Mexico.
**Job responsibilities**
• Responsible for the start-up of an extrusion and autoclave line with associated support processes such as cutting, cleaning, marking, and delivery to the cold shrink kitting line. Requires work with cross-functional team in the plant.
• Responsible for continuing the manufacturing process once qualified with assurance of a capable process. Requires work with cross-functional team in the plant.
• Implement changes to the process, with robust qualification plans, as needed to improve productivity, quality, and/or designs.
• Follow safety protocols and assure all equipment remediation is completed and approved.
• Implement statistical process control measures in production to track quality and process, accordingly.Manufacturing input in product development throughout the Product Development Life cycle on New product releases.
• Develop tooling and equipment for new product manufacturing that meet quality, specs, and cycle time requirements.
• Develop Prototypes for debugging and improving
• Product Testing according to specifications.
**Qualifications:**
**Education level required**
+ Engineering Degree
**Years and area of experience required**
+ 3 - 5 years at least
**Technical knowledge**
• Experience in rubber extrusion and autoclave curing
• Experience in leading and communication across cross-functional teams
• Understanding of EPDM rubber chemistry
• Some experience in EPDM formulation work
• Some experience in injection molding of EPDM
• Understanding of general defect origins in EPDM rubber associated with the extrusion and autoclave processes
• Black belt certified• IEE standards.
• SAP
• Root Cause analysis methodologies
• Extensive use of minitab and design of experiments
