Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse

Job Title: Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse

Location: Garston Veterinary Group - based at the Warminster site

Hours: 38 hours per week, plus 1:8 10 hour shifts Saturday and Sunday, with 2 days off the following week, plus 1 midweek night on call per week.

Salary: Up to £34,500/annum, dependent on experience

We are excited to announce that we are expanding our services and facilities, which means we need more nurses— and it's not just because of the delicious treats we enjoy during our tea breaks! As part of our growth we are expanding our utilisation of nurses to be involved in more schedule 3 procedures and develop our CT usage across the sites. To support this initiative and encourage nurse involvement with the CT, we are looking for a Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team.

We operate as a five-site practice covering Frome, Warminster, Trowbridge, Westbury, and Melksham. Our Frome site functions as a small animal hospital, where we provide our own out-of-hours service and hospital care 24/7.

The role:

As an experienced veterinary nurse in a lead nurse role, you will be critical to the provision and leadership of high standards of client and patient care and line management responsibility.

In this role you will be a key member of the nursing leadership team, working collaboratively with the senior leadership team; Clinical Director (CD), Practice Manager (PM), Clinical Nursing Manager (CNM)/Group Nursing Manager (GNM), and clinical teams, to passionately deliver quality patient care, an unrivalled client experience through teamwork, clear communication and utilisation of your knowledge and skills.

Approximately 90-95% of your role will be spent undertaking clinical duties, providing support to your clinical teams to deliver an excellent service to patients, including a full share of the on-call rota as required.

You will ensure that patients are managed effectively from a nursing perspective to support the financial health of the practice.

You will provide direct line management to allocated members of the nursing team.

If you have a specific clinical interest, you can become a champion in that area, helping to develop it not only within Garston but also throughout Linnaeus. We also have access to a wealth of clinical support.
