Job Overview:

Registered behavior technicians (RBTs) provide applied-behavior-analytic services for patients diagnosed with developmental disabilities, pediatric feeding disorders, or other behavioral diagnoses under the direction of a professional behavior analyst (e.g., board certified behavior analyst, licensed psychologist). RBTs assist with patient assessments and program implementation. RBTs assist with organizing and maintaining data-collection and statistical-analysis systems, research activities, and staff training.

Qualifications:

Required:

High-school degree/GEDAmerican Heart Association BLS ProviderCompletion of RBT Competency Assessment of the BACB prior to or within 1 month of start dateMust pass RBT exam within 3 months of start date

Preferred:

Experience working with patients or individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities, pediatric feeding disorders, or other behavioral diagnoses in an educational, instructional, or therapeutic setting

Certifications and Licenses Required:

American Heart Association BLS Provider

Scheduling Requirements:

Monday – Friday Full Time – 40 hours/week

Essential Functions:

Applied-Behavior-Analytic Services

Conduct sessions with patients using standard procedures under the direction of a professional behavior analystProvide suggestions of possible procedures and methods to a professional behavior analystAssist professional behavior analyst in implementing intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge proceduresPrepare initial drafts of session materials, session descriptions, and progress notesEnter assessment and treatment data into spreadsheets and graph the dataReport the behavior and environment in observable and measurable terms to a professional behavior analyst and provide goal updatesPerform initial analysis of findings and present recommendations to a professional behavior analystAssist in the creation of data-collection protocols and systemsAssist with the development of skill-acquisition programs (e.g., increasing acceptance and consumption of healthy food and liquid, developmental feeding skills such as self-feeding or chewing, social and communication skills, curriculum-based developmental, social skills)Assist with the development of behavior-reduction programs (e.g., extinction protocols to reduce inappropriate mealtime behavior, non-contingent reinforcement to reduce crying, functional communication training)Assist in the training of caregivers (e.g., parents, school personnel)Use behavioral skills training methods to teach novel therapists, new staff members, and practicum students case specific protocols, procedures, and data collection systemsMaintaining an open line of communication with caregivers (e.g., daily progress, treatment changes, general updates)Anticipating case related needs (e.g., inventory of supplies, creating session materials)Prepare initial drafts of patient s discharge summary and treatment recommendations following discharge from the programPrepare your team for any planned absencesHelp to provide direction to and training of new RBTs

Auxiliary Program Support

Assist in organization, cleanliness, and maintenance of department location, materials, and equipmentAssist clinical faculty and professional behavior analysts with various research activities

Physical Demands:

Must be able to move, lift, and carry patients and objectsMoving, lifting, or transferring of patients may involve independently lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assisting with weights of more than one-hundred (100) poundsUse of abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigueFrequent movement, use of limbs, and good manual dexterity, coordination, and staminaExtended periods of standing or sitting

Other Duties:
