The Lead Regional Volunteer Coordinator (Lead RVC) is responsible for providing advanced support and leadership to the volunteer program across multiple branches within an assigned region. In addition to fulfilling the core responsibilities of a Regional Volunteer Coordinator, this role supports the Manager of Volunteer Services by mentoring and guiding Volunteer Coordinators and Volunteer Assistants, identifying gaps in service, helping develop new volunteer roles, and ensuring program quality, consistency, and compliance with St. Croix Hospice policies and CHAP standards.
This position functions as a regional subject matter expert for volunteer services and contributes to strategic planning, program improvement, and team development.
This is a regional position that requires up to 60% travel to various sites.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
Ensure Volunteer Program compliance with Medicare, CHAP, and organizational standards. Provide leadership and mentorship to Volunteer Coordinators and Volunteer Assistants Support the onboarding and development of Volunteer Assistants and assist with orientation for new Volunteer Coordinators. Evaluate volunteer needs across the region and identify opportunities for program improvement and expansion. Propose, implement, and optimize volunteer roles that align with organizational and patient care needs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate volunteer services into patient care plans. Assist in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and placement of volunteers. Ensure proper documentation, HIPAA compliance, and maintenance of volunteer personnel files. Plan and support ongoing volunteer education, recognition, and retention efforts. Represent volunteer services in community outreach and informational events. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives. Assist with volunteer-related audits, reports, and data collection. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Volunteer Services.
