Position OverviewWe're hiring a Lead UX Designer to own design systems for Salesforce Commerce Cloud storefront experiences. This role combines UX expertise with technical design systems knowledge to create scalable, consistent e-commerce experiences. You'll lead the design and implementation of Commerce Cloud's design system while working closely with engineering teams to build inclusive and accessible experiences for online shopping.
Key Responsibilities:Design Systems & Technical CollaborationDefine, create, and maintain the Commerce Cloud design system in Figma, including components, patterns, design tokens, and storefront-specific elements
Work closely with front-end engineers to translate design system components into production-ready code
Collaborate on technical implementation decisions, leveraging understanding of front-end development constraints and opportunities
Establish design system governance standards and oversee the roadmap for features and updates
Cross-Functional Partnership & Communication
Serve as a bridge connecting design, product, engineering, and commerce platform teams
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the design system, including usage guidelines and implementation best practices
Provide training and support to teams adopting the design system
Collaborate with user research teams to validate design decisions and iterate on commerce-specific user needs
Leadership & Mentorship
Mentor design team members on design systems thinking and best practices
Foster systematic design thinking across the Commerce Cloud organization
Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design, encouraging prioritization of accessible features
Required Qualifications:Experience
7+ years designing and delivering digital products as part of cross-functional teams
3+ years of specific experience with design systems creation, implementation, and governance
Technical Skills
Expert knowledge of Figma, including advanced component creation, auto-layout, variants, and design token management
Strong understanding of front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript fundamentals)
Experience with design system governance, documentation tools, and version control
Design & Leadership
Deep understanding of user-centered design methods and best practices
Demonstrated leadership behaviors that inspire teams and build trust with stakeholders
Strong communication and active listening skills
Experience using analytics and user research to drive design decisions

Checkout flows, product catalog experiences, and shopping cart interfaces
Mobile-responsive design systems for commerce applications
