Duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Translate user requirements into a multi-physics design plan.2. Develop new acoustic models to simulate the performance of the ultrasound transducers and the new acoustic materials, develop reliable process for production.3. Identify, evaluate and develop new concepts for the new product development4. Participate and contribute in development of the transducer technology roadmap and process roadmap5. Define structure and process of transducers to meet required product performance6. Work in close collaboration with design engineer for design of tooling, fabrication process, test equipment towards manufacturing readiness.7. Use the expertise in acoustics, physics and technology of signal processing to support NPI, ATD, and VCP project8. Analyze performance deviation and solve problems for mass production productsQuality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required4. Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables5. Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiativesQualifications:
1. Master’s degree or PhD in Physics (acoustics, optic, material), electrical engineering (signal processing), biomedical engineering2. At least 7 years’ experience for Master or 5 years’ experience for PhD in the design of ultrasound transducers with strong troubleshooting experience on transducers3. Strong understanding in Physics with a broad spectrum of knowledge (Acoustics, Optics, Signal Processing, Electronics, Physical Chemistry, Materials)4. Knowledge of probe manufacturing, processing and testing is a plus5. Familiar with acoustic material or similar like piezoelectric ceramic, single crystal etc.6. Experience with FEM modeling (ANSYS, PZFlex, COMSOL Multiphysics…)7. Excellent on MATLAB, MATHCAD8. Knowledge on medical ultrasound applications is a plus9. Proficiency in English communicate with cross-functional team membersDesired Characteristics:
