Primary objective\:
The Lead Piping Engineer co-ordinates all the piping engineering, piping design and equipment layout functions to meet the objectives of a Project. Responsible authority over the Lead Piping/Layout Engineer, Lead Stress Engineer, Lead Material Engineer, all assigned to the discipline to complete the plant layout & piping design and engineering activities.Specific Accountabilities\:
Organize and manage all aspects of the workload of a team of piping discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule. Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering Establish a list of discipline deliverables. Control, monitor and progress these deliverables to an agreed schedule. Organise and manage the resource requirements for the piping discipline. Ensure recognised offshore engineering practices applicable to piping design and topside/plant layout are adopted. Exercise guidance to staff in the preparation of piping materials and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards. Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising across the organisation with members of other disciplines and departments. Create an awareness and willingness to work in “break through” and partnering environment. Appraisal, training and development of personnel. Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems. Safety – Responsible for personal safety and working within the OHS&W procedure. *Essential Skills/Experience\:
A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of offshore engineering practices applicable to topsides equipment layout and piping design for oil and gas facilities. Extensive current design experience is required in piping engineering, piping stress, pipe supports, topsides equipment layouts and detailed piping design, all gained with notable design contractors and/or oil/gas companies within the petrochemical industry particularly with respect to offshore oil and gas installations. Sufficient knowledge of piping materials to guide staff in the preparation of piping and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.Matching Indicators\:
