UPMC Children’s North Satellite location is seeking a dedicated team member to help maintain a safe, professional environment for both clients and staff. Responsibilities include specimen collection and processing in accordance with established protocols. You’ll also play a key role in onboarding new employees—serving as a coach, mentor, and resource. Collaboration with medical technologists is expected, with some tasks performed under their supervision.  

Responsibilities:

Collect and label specimens accurately and promptly Communicate professionally with patients, clients, and coworkers Confirm orders and obtain billing details when needed Perform clerical tasks (filing, faxing, data entry, etc.) Delegate tasks and support phlebotomy workflow Maintain a clean, organized work area Answer phones and respond to inquiries courteously Train and mentor new staff Complete documentation and logs accurately Package specimens per testing requirements; report and document issues Support compliance with safety, dress code, and workplace standards
