Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Lenox, Iowa and often called the "Pearl of the Prairie" is where you can find small town living, focused on family and friends, with big city amenities not far from reach in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City. Located in southwest Iowa, Taylor county, with a population of around 1400, the Lenox area reaches far beyond the city limits with beautiful and productive fields of corn, beans, and other croplands. Lenox holds an amazing four day Rodeo every July and is home to a beautiful 36-9 hole golf course, several fishing and boating lakes, great area hunting, a beautiful city park with swimming pool, and many picnic parks. The MFI location in Lenox produces primarily pre-cooked egg patties. Responsibilities Position Summary: This position is to direct job assignments and support to the line workers and operation in the department. Train in all new line workers and operators. This position is responsible for assisting the shift supervisor in the managing of the Department. Support supervisor with administrative duties. Ensure all equipment is cleaned and departments are ready for timely startups. Comply with and reinforce safety and food safety standards. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide a safe work environment and ensure compliance with food safety standards. Maintain sanitation standards and adhere to safety policies. Assign work tasks and maintain control records. Monitor production lines for quality and report discrepancies. Follow USDA regulations and understand equipment, chemicals, and first aid procedures. Oversee the master sanitation schedule and monitor processing equipment. Report maintenance issues and encourage productivity and quality improvements. Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork. Follow GMPs, HACCP guidelines, SOPs, and SSOPs. Be flexible with overtime and shift changes. Qualifications Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED or equivalent. Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence. Effective communication in one-on-one and small group situations. Problem-solving skills with concrete variables and limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions (written, oral, diagram, schedule). Good communication skills. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn. Basic math skills. Ability to train new employees. Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.). Problem analysis and solution-finding skills. Ability to obtain forklift operator license and First Aid/CPR training.
