The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for an experienced Software and Data Integration Engineer to support the Lunar Gateway Program at NASA Johnson Space Center. The engineer in this role will lead a team of skilled engineers to design and integrate software and data components into the Gateway flight software. The individual must be knowledgeable in the Gateway flight software and autonomous system management architecture (ASMA); Must have a thorough understanding of core Flight System (cFS) software along with Gateway developed cFS applications and their uses when deployed and integrated with Gateway provider flight software; Must understand the data-driven approach by Gateway and how this will require to be properly configured and integrated by the module providers, and Vehicle System Manager. The position also requires working with Gateway payload managers and Crew Health Performance (CHP) system manager to ensure proper integration and operation of payloads and CHP devices as they get added over the life of Gateway.
This position requires a self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy with strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, and be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise. Finally, the most qualified candidate will be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner, must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program, and share in the excitement of developing the next human-rated space vehicles.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with NASA customers to support, monitor, and define task requirements and deliverables.Maintain a big picture view of the entire Gateway software and data integration activities to ensure that tasks are appropriately scoped and prioritized.Manage projects and coordinate tasks across the Level 2 flight software team. Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support team development and training.Be responsible for all team administrative duties, e.g., team member assignments, timesheet approval, performance feedback, recruiting activities, etc.Generate software interface requirement document for interface with hardware devices and Gateway autonomous system management software.Provide data configuration support to software developers and providers to integrate software into the Gateway architecture from a data perspective.Gain an understanding of data requirements for software applications being integrated into the Gateway fight software and work with software providers to ensure the data requirements are satisfied.Work with Gateway module providers to integrate modules data into the Gateway database.Develop software prototype and device software simulation to facilitate software design and testing.Develop ground software tool to aid in the generation of data products. Generate required documentation for software tools and simulations certification.Qualifications:
Required:
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for access to USG Facilities.B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.Mid-level Software Engineer or equivalent with experience leading a software design & development team with a track record of producing deliverables on schedule.Strong software programing skills in Python or C.Experience with software version control tools such as git.Strong computer and software skills in both Linux and Windows environments. Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic and organizational skills.Desired:
M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.Experience with software requirements definition and development is highly desired.Experience with eXtensible Markup Language (XML) Telemetric and Command Exchange (XTCE) telemetry format.Experience in data integration and databases.Experience with software interface requirements.Experience with data flow, data rates, and data dependencies for integrating software applications within a real-time software environment.Knowledge of NASA Core Flight System/Software (CFS).Familiarity with Time Triggered Ethernet (TTE).Experience with communication protocols such as Space Packet Protocol (SPP), Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP).Experience developing human-rated safety critical flight software.Vehicle-wide knowledge of space vehicle systems.Experience with JSC Spacecraft Software Engineering Team (SSET) software development processes, but any software process experience, e.g., CMMI or IEEE models, is useful.-________________________________________________________________________________________

The proposed salary range for this position is:
