We have an opportunity for a Lead Specialist Mining Projects to join our Corporate Technical team in a dynamic, international environment This position offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful mining projects that prioritise sustainability and operational excellence.

As part of this commitment, reporting to the Senior Manager Long-term Planning Underground, this role will be pivotal in developing and evaluating technically viable and sustainable solutions for various strategic projects within the Group, including supporting scoping and pre-feasibility studies as well as asset based strategic projects. This role encompasses managing operational and site-based initiatives, focusing on early study cases, align with our ESG, strategic planning and operational planning objectives.

This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis and will require travel our assets to support our projects and operations. Alternatively, if preferred, a 9-day fortnight with hybrid and flexible working arrangements could be considered.

What You’ll do?

Plan and conduct early-stage scoping and concept studies to inform strategic decision-making. Support integrated prefeasibility studies, ensuring a consistent approach to technical and financial elevations. Develop and evaluate sustainable solutions for operational and strategic projects. Collaborate with internal resources and external business partners to leverage expertise and insights for project execution. Deliver timely on projects, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards, and align with the strategic goals of the organisation.

What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking professional who brings:

Extensive displayed leadership experience in underground, with a strong background in studies and project management. Relevant degree in mining engineering or a related discipline. Proven track record in being involved integrated scoping and prefeasibility studies, demonstrating a solid understanding of technical and financial evaluation methods. Technical expertise in mining processes, project management methodologies, and sustainable practices. Proficiency in XERAS, Deswik, MS Projects and Ventsim; with proficiency in Pumpsim is desirable. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
