Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
**Job Description**
**Location/Division Specific Information:**
As part of the Life Products Division (LPD), the Mebane, NC site focuses on producing a domestic supply of critically needed laboratory pipette tips, which are used in disease research and in high volumes for processing of diagnostic tests.
You´ll maintain the machinery and equipment of the molding and assembly department in operating conditions according to the manufacturer's instructions and following the company's procedures.
**Work Shift**
**Monday through Friday**
**8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with possibility of Overtime**
**Responsibilities:**
Responsible for performing preventive and predictive maintenance tasks
Maintain operation of the primary plant (chillers, dryers, compressors, cooling towers, HVAC, general lighting, pumping system)
Responsible for filling out forms related to maintenance activities such as preventive, predictive, or corrective maintenance
Movements and installation of machinery
Responsible for corrective maintenance tasks on the equipment
Responsible for the application of order and cleanliness in the department (5's)
Ability to develop and implement continuous improvement through the kaizen methodology using PPI tools.
Disassembles mechanical devices such as resin screws, barrels, cylinders, valves, pumps, and gearboxes to remove defective parts and make lasting repairs. Uses hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools, and occasionally fabricated fixtures. Reassembles mechanical devices and installs new parts
Sets up and operates drill presses, grinders, welders, mills, lathes, and other metal working tools to fabricate and repair parts. Must have personal hand tools and toolbox
Follow and work following the Safety and Environment rules
Provide support within all areas
Participate in training sessions on environmental matters
Carry out tasks respecting the controls for environmental care and employee integrity
Maintain in optimal operating conditions the equipment for environmental operational control and/or that affect the environmental performance of the Environmental Management System
Participate in weekly talks on environment and safety
Participate in environmental training sessions
Identify and report relevant Hazard IDs
Perform duties as requested
Participate in PPI activities
**Requirements for the position:**
High School diploma or equivalent required.
**Experience:**
Required: Minimum of 4 years of work experience in manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field.
Preferred: Maintenance to IMM and or plastic industry equipment or equivalent

**Physical Requirements / Work Environment**
+ Frequently lift 50 lbs and occasionally lift more than 50 lbs with assistance
+ Frequently stand or walk for extended periods of time and occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl
+ Must be available to work overtime, including weekends to support department as necessary
