As a COBOL Mainframe Application Developer, you will work directly with client personnel as a consultant to support development on their existing Payroll (Autopay) software system. You will create and use programming specs to build assigned components, ensuring these components are properly documented, unit tested, and ready for integration. You will fix defects found during pre- and post-production and provide work estimates for development tasks.

As a technical leader, you will assign work to the team, assist team members with any issues that arise and give status updates to the client. You will be responsible for installing all work on time and correctly.

Who You Are

Daytime Monday to Friday working hours required are 8:30am-5:30pm USA Eastern Time. 24/7 on-call support rotation and weekend implementations support are also required.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

Analyze, design, develop, test and deploy code on a mainframe platform (z/OS) based upon user specifications.Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications and programming solutions.Provide technical assistance to other team members to solve software problems.Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all development processes, including specifications, design, and user guides.Assist in training and mentoring other developers, sharing knowledge and best practices in mainframe development.Ensure proper change management for all requested changes, fixes and enhancements to production applications.Technical lead responsibilities to ensure team’s work is delivered on-time and correctly.24 X 7 on-call support rotation is required.Night and weekend Production/QA Support.

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work/practical experience).At least 8 years of COBOL programming; proficiency in COBOL programming in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment.Experience with technical leadershipExperience with Payroll concepts (Autopay experience a bonus)Experience in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, Assembler, DB2, CICS VSAM, FTP, MQ and Changeman.Production Support experience including break-fix support and permanent fixes in production.Development lifecycle experience, from Developing to System Test to UAT to Production.Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $85,920 to $163,320based on a full-time schedule.  

Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience.  For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations: 

California:$94,440 to $195,840 

Colorado: $85,920 to $163,320 

New York City: $103,080 to $195,840 

Washington: $94,440 to $179,400 

Washington DC:$94,440 to $179,400 

  

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off.  Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
