Job Overview:
Children s Specialized Hospital in Union, NJ is looking for a qualified Lead Mental Health Professional for a Full-time work schedule of 40 hours per week.
Qualifications:
+ Required Masters degree in psychology or related field, such as social work,
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, customer service, and organizational skills,
+ Familiarity and knowledge of childhood diagnoses, DSM 5, and psychological testing strongly encouraged,
+ Knowledge of community resources preferred,
+ Familiarity and comfort with electronic medical records and MS Office suite,
+ Leadership skills to motivate staff in the absence of the Psychology Supervisor,
+ At least two years of experience as Mental Health Screener or comparable role,
+ Previous hospital physicians office experience preferred,
+ Tact and courtesy, patience, empathy and understanding,
+ Sound problem-solving and communication skills,
+ Able to maintain confidentiality of information,
+ Scheduling Requirements:
+ Days to work

Essential Functions:
+ Assigns work, coordinates activities and works with Mental Health Screeners,
+ Aids in on the job training of new and current employees,
+ Screens referrals for Psychological, Psychiatric, and Developmental services for all Childrens Specialized Hospital locations,
+ Interviews referral sources, answers questions, and obtains information to assist in determining need for services and what type of services are needed,
+ Forwards information to staff who schedule Psychology, Psychiatry, and Developmental services,,
+ Receives work assignments from Psychology Supervisor,
+ Establishes daily work schedule for the team members along with Psychology Supervisor for special and or routine assignments,
+ Assigns duties to team members, puts supports in place to set team members up for success and inspects completed work,
+ Participates in the performance appraisal of team members as well as personnel actions, for example, hours changes, terminations, performance improvement,
+ Assists with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members,
+ Ensures consistent coverage for Mental Health Screening team,
+ Provide support services to facilitate needed care for patients and families,
+ Performs other duties as assigned by Psychology Supervisor,
+ Screens referrals for mental health service, determining severity and what types of services are needed,
+ Supports and audits Mental Health Screening team in Five9 for key performance indicators,
+ Collaborate with Psychology Supervisors, and Section Chiefs for process improvement,
+ Assists with making referrals to community mental health programs and acute psychiatric services, as needed,
+ Initiates scheduling process to schedule psychology and psychiatry services,
+ Formulates and manages group therapy scheduling process,
+ Takes responsibility for seeking supervision or consultation in relationship to clinical performance,
+ Actively contributes to improvement plans and effectively utilizes feedback,
+ Ensures proactive monitoring of department performance by using data and technology,
+ All other duties as assigned,
