As Lead Engineer - Mechanical Design you will be responsible for design & development of Gas turbine & Centrifugal compressor auxiliaries/skid packaging that includes,
Understanding customer specifications, deriving requirements for the design of various Mechanical Auxiliaries.Sizing and selection of various auxiliary equipment such as pumps /motors/ filters/ heat exchangers/strainers/valves.Piping design as per ASME B31.3 (pipe sizing , pressure drop calculation, material selection, reviewing piping stress analysis, piping support selection and piping layout design)Structural verification using FEA tools such as Ansys.Foundation loads calculation and skid lifting design.Leading project meetings, and travelling for Kick off / 3D model review meetings with global customersCollaborating with external engineering suppliers in the creation & review of basic engineering drawings and 3D models, with knowledge on GD&T.Demonstrate good knowledge and analytical thinking ability to arrive at technically strong conclusions for fluid, thermal and structural problems.Have an expertise in performing flow simulations with Simcenter Flomaster and piping stress analysis with CAESAR II software, clearly documenting the studies as formal reports after holding review meetings consistent with standard organization procedures.Technical leadership for analysis execution and fulfilment on fluid and/or piping flexibility during project detailed design phase by training and expanding capacity through suppliers using above tools.Be responsible for the team on simulation execution quality and timelines by performing activity reviews and planning with suppliers, aligning with relevant CTH and Principal ENG office.Be conversant in reading and interpreting design documentation such as P&IDs, functional control descriptions, Item Specifications & datasheets, etc. with at least 3 years of experience working on lube oil, fuel and seal GT auxiliary systems documentation and simulations.Participate as NCA and RCA contributor with ability to work in international teams to address time critical issues on above systems.Conceptualize and build working models for system validation as required by engineering teams during novel/NPI and deviating standard design verifications.Have good knowledge of applicable API standards such as lube oil (API-614), seal gas (API-692), Safety relief valves (API-520/521), etc. and ASME piping standards such as ASME B31.3, B31.1, B31.12, B16.5, B36.19, B31J, Sec VIII Div1/2 etc. for application in rotating equipment auxiliary systems.Ability to resolve and arrive at technical justification for Lvl. 3 ENG service requests addressed to design team, handling discussions with site FSE and relevant system experts.Involve in standardization of simulation methodologies and creating design templates for design analysis activities, including holding review and improvements toll gates with title holders and staff engineering.Work with cross-functional teams for collection of required inputs and lead reviews for the completion of studies assigned to the team.Drive the adoption of new software and involve in development of calculation tools to improve the efficiency of organization in handling technical requests from customers and stakeholders.Work closely with the other technology experts and discipline leaders to solve problems in new areas by collaboration and being versatile in quickly adopting appropriate skillsFuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
Have a bachelor’s / master’s in mechanical/Structural Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Static /Rotating equipment designExperience in skid packaging of Gas Turbine and/or centrifugal compressor,Strong experience in Piping domain Exposure to FEA Analysis software like Ansys.Exposure to API/ASME /NFPA codes.Exposure to 3D modeling/Detailing tools like UG NX, GD&T.Work in a way that works for you
