Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Initiatives
**Job Description Summary** As the Manufacturing Engineering Productivity Lead (Power), you’ll play a key role in driving productivity improvements across three major product families: Power 777X ELMS, Power Gulfstream, and Power Military. Reporting to the Site Manufacturing Engineering Initiatives Leader, you’ll be at the forefront of advancing GE Aerospace Defence & Systems’ 5-Year Hoshin Kanri (HK) strategy while helping transform the Manufacturing Engineering team through the growing capabilities of the Manufacturing Engineering Initiatives organisation. This role is part of the Productivity segment of the team, giving you the opportunity to challenge existing processes and deliver meaningful, operator-focused improvements that drive long-term change. What You’ll Be Doing: Leading productivity initiatives that align with GE Aerospace’s proprietary FLIGHT DECK operating model (don’t worry—we’ll provide comprehensive training to set you up for success). Collaborating with operators and teams to identify opportunities for Labour Productivity improvements and implementing solutions that make a lasting impact. Working across three key product families to deliver operator-centric changes that enhance efficiency and sustain improvements over time. Using your technical problem-solving skills to tackle challenges head-on and drive impactful change. It supports design, development, manufacturing, and aftermarket services for leading aerospace manufacturers in civilian and military sectors. **Job Description** **Roles and Responsibilities** + Delivering **Direct Labour Productivity initiatives** aligned with the Hoshin Kanri strategy, which constitutes approximately 80% of the role. + This aspect of the position is highly self-driven, offering the successful candidate the unique opportunity to identify and prioritise their own projects. + As the role is funded through the Hoshin Kanri, the expectation is to deliver productivity improvements that generate returns at least four times the cost of the position. + The role provides exposure to multiple international sites within the Aviation Systems business and offers opportunities to engage with senior executive leadership, fostering professional growth and development. + Collaboration with the **Power Manufacturing Engineering teams** to enhance technical problem-solving capabilities. + Working closely with local value-stream leadership to ensure productivity initiatives are integrated into their business plans. This role serves as an excellent foundation for those interested in pursuing the **Controlled Title-Holder (CTH) pathway** , providing a clear avenue for career advancement within GE Aerospace.
