Lead Manufacturing Engineer
**Job Description Summary** GE Aviation in Wilmington produces rotating parts for jet engines. Process Engineers support the manufacturing process in various ways (programming, tooling, process, etc.) Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work if the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.). **Job Description** **Roles & Responsibilities:** + Deliver processes as part of a manufacturing engineering team + Define and control production process including tooling and equipment + Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment + Program CNC machines, automated processes, and robotics + Develop new solutions under guidance and / or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations + Work together with business leadership (business leaders, plant leaders, etc.) + Specify needs, communicate about project approach, and present outcomes of research done + Work directly with production employees and on cross functional teams **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of manufacturing and/or engineering experience) + a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing and/or engineering experience **Desired Characteristics:** + Knowledge of automated edge contour process (vibratory, slurry, robots, etc.) + Program experience with milled, turned, shaped, and ground features + Must have knowledge of GE Aviation specs relating to edge contour criteria + Robotic edge contour experience + Previous experience as a process engineer producing rotating parts for jet engines + Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) + Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn​ + Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively​ + Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed ​ + Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative​ + Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker GE Aerospace offers comprehensive benefits and programs to support your health and, along with programs like HealthAhead, your physical, emotional, financial and social wellbeing.
