Position Overview:
As part of the talented Engineering team, you will provide leadership to Assembly Manufacturing Engineers, mentoring new team members and coordinating cross-departmental activities. This role supports production processes, develops and maintains equipment and procedures, and drives continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles. The position aligns with Mercury’s goals in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Productivity, and collaborates across functions to implement strategic improvements.

Essential Functions:
Supervise and mentor Manufacturing Engineers, conduct performance reviews and career planningDevelop and implement best practices across assembly operationsLead projects for new product launches and process improvementsAnalyze production data and troubleshoot process/equipment issuesApply Lean tools to support safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goalsMaintain process documentation and support ergonomic and safety initiativesSupport new product development with efficient production systemsDesign layouts using CAD for optimal workflowCollaborate with internal/external customers and suppliers to resolve issuesDevelop equipment specs, qualify processes, and support deploymentLiaise with Engineering and Program Management to meet business goalsServe as subject matter expert on key processesPerform other duties as assigned by the Engineering ManagerKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and make independent technical decisionsProficient in Lean, SPC, CAD, and MS Office toolsKnowledge of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing systemsSkilled in data analysis, blueprint reading, and process documentationExperience with quality systems and capital project managementAbility to lead cross-functional teams and implement strategic goalsFamiliarity with PFMEA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement toolsGreen Belt or Black Belt certification (or willingness to obtain)Self-motivated with minimal supervision requiredDiversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent Engineering degree) is requiredMinimum 4 – 6 years relevant work experienceExtensive working knowledge and understanding of diverse manufacturing operationsProficient in lean manufacturing tools and strategies, and process improvement methodologiesStrong proficiency in MS Office applicationsKnowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent 2D drafting software is desiredBasic understanding of cost accounting concepts, techniques, and principlesAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and documentsPreferred Qualifications:
Formal Lean Six Sigma Green / Black belt certificationSolid comprehension and listening skillsExcellent analytical and data analysis skills, careful attention to detail and accuracySelf-motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, and capable of working independently within deadlinesAbility to maintain a high level of focus & flexibilityThe anticipated pay range for this position is 84,500-136,100 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
