Lead Manufacturing Engineer- 2nd shift
Job Description SummaryEngineering associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines.

There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations. This candidate is responsible for the daily problem solving required for the plant to be successful in meeting KPIs in Safety, Quality, Production and Productivity. This role is for a manufacturing engineer supporting 3rd shift operation, and will include supervision coverage as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities

Support and validate shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipmentOversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees.Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing Lead)Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing Lead experience

Desired Characteristics

Technical or Operational background in Aerospace or Automotive manufacturingExperience leading Lean & Continuous Improvement activitiesStrong oral and written communication skills.CNC machining experience current or pastGD&T knowledge

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
