Job Summary 

This position is responsible for leading the loading department, acting as a point of contact for scheduling and ensuring the department is adhering to safety standards and following daily work orders in a timely, safe, and productive manner.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Conducts daily huddles with department regarding schedule, orders, and maintenance concerns.   Confers with management regarding scheduling and maintenance concerns.  Operates a propane sit-down forklift.   Sort shipments for destination and group merchandise to be included with or fulfilled in an order.   Picking, pulling, and loading of finished materials for transport and unloading of raw materials.   Moving products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.   Inspect the forklift to determine the need for repairs and to guarantee safety.   Verify piece counts on each pallet and compares to label.  Material handling of all products.   Follow shipping work orders.   Other duties as assigned  

 

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.   Highly motivated with good sound work ethics.   Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.  Team player able to follow instructions from management and peers.   Ability to learn and operate new equipment.   Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).   Strong problem-solving skills and math skills with the capability to calculate square footage and batch size.  

Education and Experience:  

Required: 

High School diploma or equivalent is required.   Minimum of three (3) year previous forklift experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Shipping and Receiving.   Proven leadership skills and abilities.  

 

Working Conditions: 

Fast paced manufacturing environment, loading dock, and driveways. Will be working in all weather conditions.   Hours Worked: 40 hours per week   Shift:   Days/Week: Monday – Friday
