Flight Inspection

Bring your experience and ideas and leverage shop floor supervision through extensive knowledge, experience, and leadership abilities. The Lead Inspector Flight position assumes a leadership role for an assigned work area, be it a fixture, aircraft, or facility.

What you’ll be doing as a Lead Flight Inspector

Executing supervisor’s work plan for each manufacturing dayProviding direction to Inspection crew in developing work assignmentsPlanning priority work sequenceResolution of daily problems inhibiting assembly effortsAssisting with technical instructionCompletion of paperwork as requiredMaintaining close coordination with the Supervisor regarding status of aircraft/item in workMaintain in-depth knowledge of policies and procedures for facility and work areaOperates special kinds of testing instruments and equipment as required.Directly responsible for complete and final inspection of each aircraft for safe and proper functioning and subsequent flight tests.Prepares flight inspection reports and all other necessary data for complete and final inspection prior to customer acceptance and final delivery.Approves acceptable work or rejects all work which fails to meet required standards and recommends corrective action to prevent recurrence.Rechecks when corrective measures have been completed.In all cases inspectors must have had additional training and experience required to handle the more difficult and complicated phases of inspection work.Used inspector tools and equipment e.g. hand and marking tools, electricians and/or mechanics hand tools, precision measuring instruments, devices and equipment, and a variety of specialized equipment and alignment instruments.May aid, guide or assist quality policy designees in an advisory capacity in proper inspection methods and procedures and may check their work for accuracy and acceptability.Inspectors are required to adhere to and follow the Quality Inspection Manual Process, Amarillo Stamp Awareness Guidelines, and other related policies, procedures and processes.

Skills You Bring To this Role

Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and special alignments.Knowledge of electricians and/or mechanics tools. Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.Excellent communicator, must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.

What you need to be successful

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree in Avionics is preferred. 3 years flight inspection experience with some experience in engine test and ground work.Prefer a current A P License or strong Avionics training. Preferred knowledge of precision measuring instruments and special alignments.
